About the Derby
Grab your crew, get creative, and bring your A-game. The Annual Dinghy Derby is a one-of-a-kind Kentucky Derby-themed race where teams design, decorate, and race their own dinghys for bragging rights and prizes.
Hosted by Bourbon City Marine Center and proudly sponsored by Clarkson Insurance, the day kicks off at 11AM at Captain's Quarters. Whether you're racing for a trophy or just showing up to cheer, it's a day on the water you won't forget.
- Build it.Bring or build a seaworthy dinghy. Crews of any size welcome.
- Decorate it.Derby theme. Get loud, get creative. Best dressed gets recognized.
- Race it.Drift Bar to Captain's Quarters to Party Cove. Don't capsize.
- Win it.Awards for fastest finish, best decorated, and crowd favorite.
Register Your Boat
Registration is per boat and free this year. The captain registers the team, uploads proof of insurance, and signs the liability waiver. Then you're locked in for race day.
